Tony was a mathematics genius where he studied under the renowned mathematician professor; Serge Lang. Anthony Petrello earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics from Yale University. Whereas most of the people expected Anthony to work in academia, he decided to take a different route to attend Harvard Law School.
After earning his J.D, Anthony Petrello began operating in Baker & McKenzie law firm between 1979 and 1991. Baker & McKenzie is a prestigious law firm with offices in New York. By 1986, Tony had shown a lot of talent and effort, and he was made the company’s managing director for the office in New York. The main areas he focused on as a lawyer include general corporate law, taxation, and international arbitration.
Anthony Petrello serves as the CEO of Nabors Industries LTD, a company based in Houston, Texas. Nabors Industries is one of the largest land-based oil and gas drilling companies with operations in various countries across the globe. Anthony began his career journey in the company back in 1991 when he was elected to the board of directors and also the executive committee of the board. By the year 2015, Petrello had topped the list of the highest paid CEO’s earning over $68 million a year.
Besides his productive and busy career life, Anthony Petrello is a dedicated family man. Anthony met his sweetheart Cynthia back in the college days. The couple married, and they were blessed with a daughter who was born prematurely. Their daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy on birth. Petrello and his wife donated to Texas Children’s Hospital a whopping $7 million for their proposed neurological research center to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions. The couple has continued to make sizeable donations to the hospital since then.
